AMC: A Monster Disappointment
I don't remember seeing a ton of movies I liked during last years Monsterfest on AMC, and this year looks, well, pretty crappy too.
Just to start things off on the wrong foot they renamed Monsterfest to Fearfest. I don't know why, and I suppose it doesn't matter because unless I stay up all night and through the early morning, I won't be watching it no matter what it's called. Taking a peek at the schedule of movies makes one think somebody picked the shows before they had their coffee last Christmas morning. In other words, it was the last thing the person cared about doing and just needed to get it done fast. Do you think Panic Room is a horror movie?
Anyway, Fearfest starts October 24th and runs through the 31st. If you're looking for the real classic monster movies you'll find some on in the early morning throughout the week. Here's a link to the schedule. If you want to watch Jeepers Creepers every night you're in luck. And of course the 1,300 Halloween films are there... Michael Myers. Ugh.
I really wish Turner Classic Movies did Halloween for a week straight. They'd get it right!
